Grow Your Own Food

Kids who grow food love to eat it, and they learn patience and care.

Why this matters (for parents): Start small: one raised bed or a few pots of lettuce, peas, beans, radishes and herbs. Give kids their own row, let them water and harvest, and garden in the morning or late afternoon with hats and long sleeves.
