Harvest Time

A girl watering a raised garden bed while a boy holds up a fresh carrot beside tomato plants on a sunny farm

Big Idea

Harvest Time: Pick vegetables when they are ripe, wash them and share them.

Story time

One morning at the sunny vegetable patch behind the farmhouse, Sam and Rosie talked about “harvest time.” Kids who grow food love to eat it, and they learn patience and care. Sam said, “Let's try it today!” Rosie smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.

Try it!

Plant a bean seed in a clear cup with damp paper towel and soil. Put it on a sunny windowsill, keep it damp, and draw what you see every two days.
