Helpful Garden Creatures

Big Idea
Helpful Garden Creatures: Bees, butterflies and earthworms help plants grow.
Story time
One morning at the sunny vegetable patch behind the farmhouse, Owen and Lily talked about “helpful garden creatures.” Kids who grow food love to eat it, and they learn patience and care. Owen said, “Let's try it today!” Lily smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.
Try it!
Plant a bean seed in a clear cup with damp paper towel and soil. Put it on a sunny windowsill, keep it damp, and draw what you see every two days.
