Children's Privacy Notice (COPPA)
Last updated: October 13, 2026
JJRave is made for children ages 4 to 13 and their families, so we follow the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This notice tells parents exactly what we collect from or about children, how we use it, and how parents stay in control.
Children never sign up
Children cannot create accounts, buy, post, chat with other users, upload anything, or join the email list. There is no messaging between users, no public profiles, no comments, no forums and no meetups.
Parental consent for learner profiles and the AI Tutor
Only a signed-in parent or guardian can create a learner profile. Sign-in uses a one-time link sent to the parent's email, and the AI Tutor requires a paid membership made by an adult through Stripe, which together verify that an adult is giving consent. When you add a profile, you consent to your child using the filtered AI Tutor under this notice. You may withdraw consent at any time by switching the tutor off or deleting the profile.
What we collect, and why
- A nickname and age band, so the tutor can greet the right learner and teach at the right level.
- Lesson progress, quiz scores, session dates and minutes, the "we double-checked with a grown-up" tick and routine checklist ticks, so you can see progress on your dashboard and so the daily time limit works.
- The questions your child types, which are sent to our AI provider only to create an answer and are not stored by us. Our filters block personal information before anything is sent.
- Short excerpts of messages our safety filters flagged (for example, an off-limits topic or a sign that someone may be hurting the child), kept 30 days so you can review them.
We do not collect real names, photos, voice, location, school, addresses or contact information from children, we do not use children's information for advertising, and we never sell or share it except with the processors listed in our Privacy Policy to run the service.
If a child seems unsafe
If a child types that someone is hurting them, the tutor does not ask questions. It shows our safety message, "If someone hurts you, tell someone you trust, and keep telling until they help.", and the parent sees a flag on the dashboard so a trusted grown-up can follow up.
Parents' rights
You can review your child's information on your dashboard, delete the tutor data or the whole profile at any time, change the time limit and topics, and switch the tutor off. You can also email support@jjrave.com to review, delete or stop the collection of your child's information. We act on these requests promptly.
