Balloon Breathing

Big Idea
Balloon Breathing: Breathe in slowly through your nose, fill your belly like a balloon, and let it out slowly.
Story time
One morning at the cozy calm corner by the window, Sam and Rosie talked about “balloon breathing.” Calm kids can name their feelings, breathe through them and ask for help. Sam said, “Let's try it today!” Rosie smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.
Try it!
Try balloon breathing with a grown-up: sit tall, put a hand on your belly, breathe in slowly through your nose for 4 counts so your belly fills like a balloon, then breathe out for 4 counts. Do it 5 times and notice how you feel.
