Daily and Weekly Schedules

A mother and two children at a kitchen table with a blank weekly planner, berries, and a glass of water

Big Idea

These are sample days and sample weeks for ages 4–6, 7–9, and 10–13. Breakfast, movement, sunshine sense, music, and sleep sit inside each one. Health numbers are general guidance for parents, not medical advice. Ask your family doctor about your own child.

Ages 4–6

A sample day

A sample week

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: one short lesson after breakfast, then play outside.
  • Wednesday: music or art instead of a second worksheet.
  • Friday: a nature walk or the library. No new lesson.
  • Saturday and Sunday: a family meal and an early bedtime.

Ages 7–9

A sample day

  • Breakfast before the harder work.
  • Two lesson blocks, with a movement break between them.
  • Outdoor time, with shade when the sun is strong.
  • Music, drawing, or reading aloud.
  • A wind-down and a set bedtime.

A sample week

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: two lesson blocks.
  • Wednesday: a co-op, a class, or a field morning. See Socializing Ideas.
  • Friday: review, one printable, and a nature walk.
  • Every day: breakfast, water, movement, sun sense, something you make, and sleep.

Ages 10–13

A sample day

  • Breakfast before the morning block.
  • A morning block the learner can start, then a movement break.
  • An afternoon block or a hands-on project.
  • Outdoor time and a screen-free wind-down.
  • A set bedtime. Use Screen-Time Balance and Sleep.

A sample week

  • Four days of lessons.
  • One morning for a project, a co-op, or helping someone.
  • One lighter day for reading and review.
  • Keep the same five habits every day: breakfast, movement, sun sense, music or making, and sleep.

Try it!

Parents: copy the day that matches your child’s age onto a weekly sheet. Change one block if your main program already fills that hour. Keep the five habits.

Quick check

  1. Which sample day matches your child’s age?
  2. Where did you put breakfast, movement, and bedtime?
  3. Which JJRave section will you read this week?
