Water-Rich Foods

Big Idea
Water-Rich Foods: Watermelon, cucumber, oranges, grapes, lettuce and soup help you stay hydrated too.
Story time
One morning at the farmhouse kitchen with a big pitcher of water, Owen and Lily talked about “water-rich foods.” Water keeps kids cool, focused and full of energy. Owen said, “Let's try it today!” Lily smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.
Try it!
Make fruit-slice water with a grown-up: wash a lemon, a cucumber and a few strawberries, let a grown-up slice them, drop them into a pitcher of cold water and chill it for an hour. Then color a cup on your water chart for every glass you drink today.
