Big Idea

Washing Up After Animal Care: Always wash your hands with soap after touching animals or their homes.

Story time

One morning at the farmyard at morning chore time, Finn and Clara talked about “washing up after animal care.” Caring for animals teaches kids gentleness, patience and responsibility. Finn said, “Let's try it today!” Clara smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.

Try it!

With a grown-up, make a chore chart for one animal you know (a hen, a goat, a rabbit or a sheep). List its food, water and clean-home jobs, and check them off for a week. Wash your hands with soap after every chore.
