Big Idea

Reading Aloud Together: Take turns reading pages with a grown-up or a brother or sister.

Story time

One morning at the reading quilt under the shade tree, Ben and Hazel talked about “reading aloud together.” Readers grow strong minds, big imaginations and a lifelong love of learning. Ben said, “Let's try it today!” Hazel smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.

Try it!

Read for 20 minutes today with a grown-up or by yourself. Then write the book's name in your reading log and draw your favorite part.
