Kitchen Safety First

Big Idea
Kitchen Safety First: Wash your hands, tie back long hair, and a grown-up handles knives, hot stoves and ovens.
Story time
One morning at the farmhouse kitchen table, Rosie and Owen talked about “kitchen safety first.” Cooking together teaches kids healthy food, kitchen safety and real-life skills. Rosie said, “Let's try it today!” Owen smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.
Try it!
Make a rainbow fruit skewer snack with a grown-up: wash your hands, wash the fruit, let a grown-up cut it, then slide the pieces onto a skewer in rainbow order and share them with your family.
