Kind Self-Talk

Big Idea

Kind Self-Talk: "I can learn this" vs. "I can't.".

Story time

One morning at the hilltop at sunrise, Lily and Ben talked about “kind self-talk.” Confident kids try new things, bounce back from mistakes and ask for help when they need it. Lily said, “Let's try it today!” Ben smiled and said, “Let's do it together.” By the end of the day, they both felt proud of the healthy choice they made.

Try it!

Write or draw three things you can do now that you couldn't do last year. Say each one out loud: 'I learned that!'

Quick check

  1. What is the big idea of this lesson in your own words?
  2. What is one thing you can do today to practice it?
  3. Who could you do this with at home?
